Searching for QI studies

The goals of your lit searching

You have three goals from your lit search:
  1. Does the QI measure need refinement? For example, CMS allows UAs to screen for DM nephropathy. Do you agree?
  2. Rate of achieving the goal that we should aim for. Eg what is typical and best practice?
  3. How to achieve the goal (QI implementation)? For examples, should we use CDSS, should we use emails to patients, other ideas?

PubMed can provide additional help for all three of these searching needs

Use the modified McMaster filter (Wilczynski 2010; Hempel, 2011) below.
